CASCADE reduces the workload for the entire proposal team – saving valuable time and resources

BVTI Setup Mode

Setup mode lets you specify
your evaluation structure

In setup mode, the administrator inputs rating methods and terminology, factors and criteria, and reference material that fit your agency’s process and the specific solicitation to be evaluated.  The administrator can suspend the evaluation process and enter setup mode to make changes to the evaluation structure as needed.

BVTI Consensus mode

Evaluation mode gives team members a comprehensive way to provide input

In evaluation mode, users enter comments following the structure defined by the administrator in setup mode.  Users can be required to enter any type of comment at any level, and can optionally be required to enter a score value corresponding to their comment.  Integrated to-do lists help keep evaluators focused and keep team leaders up-to-date on individual progress.  Users have constant access to library information such as RFP and proposal documents.

BVTI Evaluation mode

Consensus mode brings the team together for CER generation

Consensus mode provides team leaders with functions for monitoring/advancing team member progress and reviewing evaluation data using a variety of filters. It also provides a convenient summary screen that gives a big picture of the evaluation. Team leaders can author their consensus summary and other reports directly in CASCADE, and publish reports for their team to review.

Requirements

Hardware

For the application installation, no special hardware is required. In most instances, a single machine can be used for all hosting requirements. Below are the minimum hardware requirements for deploying CASCADE on a single computer running Jakarta/Tomcat and mysql, serving 50 simultaneous users:

  • Pentium 4 processor (2.5 GHz or greater)
  • 1024 MB RAM
  • 20 GB hard drive

All installation and configuration can be done remotely.

Software

CASCADE can be installed and run from any operating system. CASCADE requires a relational database engine for installation, and is compatible with all major engines, including mysql, MS SQL Server, and Oracle. To provide user access, CASCADE also requires installation on a web server compatible with Java Servlets (such web servers include tomcat/Jakarta and BEA Weblogic).

Clients require a newer generation web-browser. Any computer with access to a web browser can utilize CASCADE. It is compatible with Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher, Netscape 6 or higher, Mozilla 1.0, Safari, and virtually any other browser with support for JavaScript and CSS level 1.

Training

CASCADE requires minimal user training. The tool provides online support and feedback so novice users can start using the tool immediately. Administrative users will need 1-2 hours of training to utilize and understand the terminology of the setup mode and understand all the features of consensus mode.
